…complain about insufficient pain control available to patients in the State of Georgia. Anyone else in this miserable, leaky boat? I’d be glad to read complaints from fellow sufferers.
Rick M: Thanks, I feel a bit better, now.
Knotty Pine: That’s truly miserable! This is yet another reason why I think marijuana should be legalized. I can’t imagine why it’s such an issue.
Justmeinthisworld: That’s shocking. There are *some* doctors who think you’re "faking it" (especially if you’re female, for some reason). I sincerely hope you can find a doctor who is willing to listen to you. I wish you the best of luck.

1I have it too and yep it is miserable. My doctor just recently prescribed Lyrica for me and I thought it would be the answer to my problems. However, now my insurance wants some kind of prior authorization for me to get this medicine. I asked the pharmacy and they told me it costs $167.00. In addition he prescribed Ultram Extended Release which they told me is $265.00. I can’t afford the medicine so I guess I just have to hurt all the time. It’s terrible.

2I don’t have fibromyalgia myself, but I do sleep disorder testing and many of my patients have fibromyalgia. It’s a poorly understood disorder although it appears to be a problem of brain chemistry causing an amplified pain response. I have seen patients who are on everything from aspirin to methadone and they are frequently still in considerable pain. Some people respond better to meds than do others. I sympathize with your predicament and can only suggest that you keep trying, and if your physician is not trying with you, get another doc who’s more sympathetic. Good luck.

3i can’t even get a doctor to talk to me and treat me for an infection or allergies or head injury or mono…for example—they assume I am faiking it all (even the dent in my skull from teh head injury)
I have been out of work for 5 months–because of medical malpracticitis—if i could just get medical care–i could go back to work

4They never have officially diagnosed my with fibromyalgia, but Im PRETTY sure that is close to what i suffer from. I have nerve pains all the time, just weird for absolutly no reason shapr pains that shoot down into my joints, they were toying with the fact i could have arthritis, however im still fairly young and they just are not sure. They think it has something to fo with pressure in the brain pushing on nerves and making my body feel pain which in fact is not there?? lol. i still have never got a clear answer after numerous head scans, blood tests, xrays.. blah blah you name it. I also cannot take about 90% of medications since unfortuantly i not only suffer from sever allergies to many meds but i also suffer from post traumatic stress disorder from the numerous meds i HAVE taken in the past and the reactions i suffered made me to the point where i barely can even swallow a vitamin now. So under the sure why not..of my doctor, under the table… since i do not live in a medical marijuana state YET… i have been smoking for a few years now and it truly is my miracle drug, whether it relieves the pressure off my brain therefore i do not get the pain symptoms, or whether i just cannot feel them when i smoke is yet to be known, all i care though is that it WORKS.
