I am a mother of 3. I had my tubes cut & burned at the ends over 7 years ago when I was 25. I started noticing subtle "activity" in my belly a few weeks ago, but attributed it to gas bubbles. Now I have very forceful movements in my belly, mostly on the right side and adjacent to my navel. The movements are like my belly is jumping!!! When the movements are active, others can look at my belly, with or without clothing, and see the movements. They often repeat, and one time it was very fast. I’ve had problems with my breast being tender & painful since July. I’ve always had a weird menstrual cycle, so I never bother to keep up- sometimes I’ll go 3 months withuot a period while other times I’ll have a period that lasts 3 weeks! I’m overweight, so I have a large belly, but it’s soft. I took a cheap pregnancy test, but it was negative. I love babies, but would not want one right now for a lot of reasons, so it’s not like I’m sitting around wishing for another baby. I have my hands full with my 3 kids, and I have a baby nephew that I can enjoy if I want, which rules out false pregnancy to me. So what is causing my belly to jump?! I have fibromyalgia, but not a lot of GI issues. I’ve been nauseous a lot over the past 2-3 months but no persistent heartburn or bad cases of diarrhea/constipation. I’ve always had morning sickness type symptoms ALL my life- if I go too long without eating I get sick, especially in the morning. Please, let me know what you think. Thanks!
I have found a number of people- men, women, young, older, fit, overweight, etc- who also experience this sensation at http://www.steadyhealth.com/viewtopic.php?t=107145&name=weird_fluttering_sensation_in_upper_left_abdomen_&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=0. They also agree that it seems to be more than gas, but we still don’t have an answer as to what causes this fluttering that feels like a baby moving, is persistent, and forceful enough for others to touch our bellies and feel. Please help if you know something.
