I have really bad circulation. My feet and hands are always freezing. I’m always dizzy as well.
I have fibromyalgia, i’m on lots of different medications and I’m not really eating very well (gluten free diet). I drink heaps of water.
Is there anything I can do for the circulation? (Apart from wearing socks)
Thanks.
I’m 18. I can’t do a lot of sport because I’m in a lot of pain (fibromyalgia)

1Hi, Wabby! I have the same issues with cold hands and feet. Technically it’s called Raynaud’s Disease and it goes hand in hand with Fibromyalgia. I’ve found that taking warm baths helps (not too hot, because my feet and hands are so cold that something feeling pleasantly hot to someone else, to me feels like it’s boiling my feet).
I’ve found that it’s gotten better ever since I started treatment for hypothyroidism. If you haven’t had your thyroid checked, it might be worthwhile. With Fibro, you will probably test at the lower end of the normal range for TSH or Thyroid Stimulating Hormone (the range used to be 0.5 to 5 - the higher the number is actually considered "lower" - now the range has been changed to .3 to 3 - not all doctors and labs are aware of this change or are using it - see the about.com link below). I tested at a 4.8. I saw an Endocrinologist who was very up-to-date on thyroid testing information and he wanted to shoot for a 2.0 TSH. I am now taking a small amount of thyroid medication and my hands and feet are somewhat warmer.
Hope all is well!

3Walking early in the morning or when you can helps the circulation. Try walking for at least 10- 20 minutes a day.

4Could be a side effect from one of your medications and I would check with the doc.

5I think you need to stop all the medications. There are a lot of different side effects from taking medicine. Maybe stop taking the medication for a few weeks or maybe a month to see if you feel better, then go back on it. Ask your doctor about this..

9Hey have fibro & bad circulation as well..Sometimes one of the meds can cause poor circulation too.The dizziness is part of fms so be careful when driving, any movements.
To improve your circulation as well as the fibro you have to excercise perhaps just 15 minutes at a time.I’m a bad eater too LoL but its important you eat healthy..or at least take the essential vitamins..D,C,Calcium,pottasium,B12.ie
Good Luck,

10also have a consentration shower; thatmeans have the water as hot as you can take it for 5 mins;then turn it to cold for abt 30secs.also go for a massage,or massage yourself;google foods that help with circulation.

11Doesn’t it all go hand in hand to watch your diet and eat the right foods…
small exercises can be preformed before you are ready to rise.. slight stretching and warm those feet up by doing heel toe exercises.. good for the calves too. foot flat on floor rise up heel on the floor and toes pointing up then go to toes on the floor and heel lifted off the floor just about 10 will do. although you may want to begin with just 4 a day.
Now lets go back to feeling dizzy if you do not know why this is it is time to see the doc… check iron..

13I have very bad circulation in my hands and feet, I rub mine and that gets the blood moving and I also elevate them when I can.

14I have bad circulation too.
i stay warm with hoodies and socks or slippers. If you wear a hat to sleep, it not only keeps your hair from going everywhere, it also keeps you warm.(tip I learned from my brothers friend) Drink Hot Chololate (I’m gonna make some now)mmmm, Its warm and chocolatey goodness. Hands get warm just from holding the glass.
I started wearing fuzzy, gaudy socks to sleep, and my feet stay warmer. (they’re pink with a zebra stripe top, and oh so fuzzy).
You could drink warm water, instead of ice cold water. ( We’ve been taking care a a kitty that is half-dead looking, and its the dead of winter,so we give him almost boiling hot water to raise his body temp.)

15Dear Sarah,
The amino acid, L-Arginine, taken orally, will improve circulation, by indirectly causing dilation of blood vessels.
Many, of the "natural male enhancement", and "natural female enhancement" products, have L-Arginine as a key ingredient. They work by increasing blood flow to the genital area, promoting penile erection, and labia engorgement, as the case may be.
Consider, taking one 1,000 mg tablet, once per day, on an empty stomach, in the morning, and see what happens.
