My wife has what we believe to be undiagnosed fibromyalgia. The doctor is hesitant to make the diagnosis because it may affect her insurance. Her current treatment consists of low doses of Darvocet and Flexeril She has also tried physical therapy…all to very little or no avail. Can anyone recommend other treatment options??
Thank you justmeinthisworld. But i forgot to mention also that the doctor thinks there may be the onset of rheumatoid arthritis also. Her Great-Grandmother had it and her dad has osteo arthritis diagnoised with FMS. She has history in her family and yes, they have done all blood work and MRI and PT to no avail. She is finally going to see a Rheumatologist in a couple of weeks but was curious what she could do in the mean time. thanks!

1the 1st line treatments are neuro based
FMS is a disroder of the neuro system whicxh affects teh muscularsoft tissue system
SNRI: Cymbalta, Savella
anti seizure: Lyrica
there is NO INFLAMMTION–so nsaids don’t really do anything
i assume the doc has throguhly evaluated and rules out other conditions throguh blood tests and imaging studies…
fms is higly overdiagnosed by incompetant docs who label any pain as fms
