These should get you started. If you need any other info regarding FM or CFS/ME be sure to drop by FM/CFS/ME RESOURCES.
FM/CFS/ME RESOURCES provides you with a large quantity of accurate medical information related to Fibromyalgia (FM) and Chronic Fatigue Syndrome / Myalgic Encephalopathy (CFS/ME).
Our first objective is to assist in finding the cause and cure for FM and CFS/ME. By taking the FM/CFS/ME Survey, you are helping us to reach this goal.
The second objective is to inform and assist patients, caregivers, and families living with FM and CFS/ME. To achieve this goal, we provide a wealth of resources to enable individuals to take control of their illness.
What if you are diagnosed with fibromyalgia? The standard treatments are just nerve deadening drugs that will make you stupid and lazy. Are you taking cholesterol drugs? The statin drugs cause muscle pain and nerve problems. quote from http://www.spacedoc.net "Statin drugs are reductase inhibitors with site of action being the mevalonate to mevalonic acid step of the mevalonate pathway. For your information, this is the very beginning of the mevalonate pathway, the trunk of the tree, so to speak. As Caso suggests, "inhibition of the endogenous synthesis of CoQ10 may result from statin use."
What Caso could have said is that inhibition of CoQ10 synthesis is inevitable with reductase inhibitors along with dolichol synthesis and selenoprotein synthesis and it is the inhibition of the normal glyceryl-glyceryl phosphorylation by reductase inhibitors that enhances tau protein production, the stuff of neurofibrillatory tangles (see Meske J European Neuroscience, 2003). All of this from reductase inhibition at that vital step of our mevalonate tree. Think about it!" Notice the word "neurofibrillatory".

you’re right to worry-most docs-maybe 99% are INCOMPETANT when it comes to FMS-even rheumatologists(especially since it isn’t arthrits-its neuro)–mostly because they have an attitude problem…
she keeps a list of docs in teh US recomended by other patienst–and takes off docs with bad reviews—unlike other so called referrral lists
many docs label ANY pain-even normal pain from lifestyle choices as Fibromyalgia–
there are many other possibilities–I wouldn’t be surprised if most people diagnosed with fibro don’t really have it–they have something else ranging from old fashioned arthritis to depression to hypochondria–
it is possible to have 2 conditions (ie arthritis and FMS)–but i believe that most of the time the fms diagnosis is just automatically tagged on..
teh approved treatments Lyrica and Cymbalta do not DEADEN the nerves-some people may feel this way-but that is not true as a general rule

3VA is not noted for good FMS care.
You can do it yourself, though. Use the all free info on http://www.FibroFix.com
Free help by email or phone. Amazing.
